Stephanie Knapp is a writer living in New Orleans. She was born and raised in the Missouri Ozarks, and has always loved stories. Reed College and Pratt Institute helped her pursue training in the narrative arts.
Her films have been screened in Missouri, New York, and California, and her photos exhibited in Missouri and California. Recently, Stephanie was awarded the Silver Solas Prize for travel writing. She has been a resident at Hambidge and a finalist and semi-finalist in the Wisdom-Faulkner and Patti Friedman writing competitions. Her work has been featured in Paper Dragon, Infection House, and the American Writer’s Review, among others. She is a member of the Peauxdunque Writer’s Alliance.
If you’re feeling fancy you could call her a francophone, turophile, or Kieslowski aficionado… on other days she’ll respond to “Hillbilly Socialist.” When not teaching in the French schools or writing, she is probably out with the dog.
